Around the rec area

Our first view of the rec area was a large paved parking lot, with a boat ramp and a lot of flashing lights at one end (more about that tomorrow). While that doesn’t sound promising, it turned out that despite the pavement and the excitement, there was nature to be found.

I can’t identify the first flower below, but I think the second may be fleabane – please offer your own suggestions if that doesn’t seem likely. And I do recognize the critter in the third picture as a grasshopper, but that’s as specific as I can get.

Wren: Nice nature views, I always thought the second one looked like little daisies.

Welcome!

I blog here as Wren, and take the Carolina Wren as my totem and namesake.

Wrens are bright, cheerful, faithful little birds. I only hope I can be the same, contribute to bettering this world of ours, and brighten your day when you visit.

Thank you for being here, for commenting, for helping to build a strong community of nature lovers, and for doing so much for nature, for wildlife, and for people in the "real" world.
