in birds

What they don’t tell you on the signs: the mosquitoes are a bigger threat than any rattlesnake.

Milkweed, on the other hand, is harmless. Alas, no monarchs feeding upon it.

Birds for the day: mallard, canada goose, song sparrow, white-crowned sparrow, great egret, blue jay, common grackle, northern harrier and

wild turkey. As usual, the best view of a bird all day came as we were in the parking lot, preparing to leave.

Klaus, for some of them I think it was a tie.

Looks really like fun. As long as the mosquitoes are not as big as the turkey! ;)
Cheers, Klaus

Fishing guy – We had fun, despite the insect life. The turkey was very tame, but would NOT stand still.

Sandy – I hope the frosts we’ve had are killing them off. I’d like to visit again before it gets too cold.

Ah, the truth about mosquitoes!

Wren: Those are some neat captures at the wildlife sanctuary. Neat shot of the turkey.
