BFF Judy is back for a visit, and we’ve been out and about exploring the wilds of Michigan. First stop, a recreation area near the airport. Here’s what it looks like:
As you can see, signs of fall are in plain view.
There’s plenty of water
and dead trees.
It might not be McMansions, but it suits the neighborhood.
The colors are beautiful this fall, bright yellow, orange, and red everywhere.

Bev – the lake is in active use as a recreation area, but I didn’t see any docks, even right in front of the houses on the other side.
Dead stumps. WE have them too. Our POA lowers our lake in the winter so folks can do dock repair and haul out the stumps that have floated free. The lake in your pictures is so much more nicer looking than ours.
Klaus, we saw even better fall colors later in the trip. I wish I could have gotten pictures of more of it, and I wish it weren’t so hard to steer the car and snap the shutter at the same time.
Wonderful autumn colors! I think you find Autumn colors everywhere – even here in Florida – just not so obvious, but really visible. Mainly smaller shrubs have their leafs turn red. But of course – nothing compared to that festival of colors!
Cheers, Klaus
Fishing Guy – I think I saw some fish jumping out there. I know there were a number of boats launched by fisherman in the couple hours we were hanging around there.
robin – funny you should mention that, Judy and I were just talking about places that did or did not have fall leaf colors. We thought California was not among the colorful, but it’s good to have first hand confirmation.
Sure is pretty there. Makes me think about fall here on the central coast of California– we won’t see colors like that.
Wren: What a neat set of photos. I thought that log was the Loch Ness monster then I realized we were in Michigan.
