I blog here as Wren, taking the Carolina Wren as my namesake, avatar, and totem.
Wrens are bright and cheerful little birds. I hope I can be the same and brighten your day when you visit. I'm proud to call myself a nature lover and tree hugger, and hope that sharing here will contribute to bettering this world of ours and inspiring a love of nature in my visitors.
Thank you for being here, for commenting, for helping to build a strong community of nature lovers, and for doing so much for nature, for wildlife, and for people in the "real" world.

Bev,
Wren, LOL. “love the birds you’re with.”
Thanks, Mary. I’m just a pushover for living creatures, no matter how annoying.
Thanks, Sandy. New motto? “If you can’t bird the ones you love, love the birds you’re with” Doesn’t quite work, does it?
That is really beautiful.
Wren – it’s very difficult for me to enjoy a House Sparrow’s best but you did it! Great photos!
Bev – I understand completely. I hate sparrows when they mob my feeders and chase off the other birds. At the same time, I find them cute when they hop around begging for food outside a coffee shop. Go figure.
Thank you, 2sweetnsaxy. The first one’s been a fav on flickr, too.
All of these are great but I really like the first one. The textures and shapes really compliment the photo.
They are a striking looking bird. The thing I love about House Sparrows is that they are everywhere. I find that they are a dose of home when I travel to far flung parts of the globe. Seeing them never ceases to amaze me. They ground me and connect me. I just don’t love them as much at home. Two-faced aren’t I?
