oiseaux #4: does anyone need a mallard?

As my non-birdy friends would say, “You had to go all the way to France to see ducks?”

No, but since I was there ….

mallards in fountain, paris, france

They speak a universal language even I can translate. “Quack” means “feed me!”

mallards by fence, paris, france

female mallard, paris, france

mallard pair, paris, france

Michelle, I confess to not listening as closely as you have. I’m afraid I categorize any duck sound as a quack. I’ll have to start paying more attention.

Wren..thank you for the kind comments on my blog, I do appreciate it. I thought that all ducks quacked until I moved near a pond. I tell people if it quacks, it’s a mallard female….or Daffy duck..

G, I agree with you. They can be cute and funny, even if they are “common”

Roasted? kidding, woodcarved mallards are nice but the real ones are a beautiful photo opp!

My kids love feeding them, sometimes giving all their supposed picnic bread to them!

Wren: What a fun post and that is a long way to go to feed a duck. that is unless you were having some cooked duck later.

:) It’s clear I’m not the only one susceptible to their imploring eyes and skilled begging.

A fun post… I was chuckling the whole time! Beautiful shots of the ducks. They do look well fed… =)
