Who would have thought the tower was no taller than a lamp post. :-) A really neat shot!

Thanks for stopping by, one and all. From all the photos, you’d never think I was only in the city three days, would you? :)

Yes, Mr Linky was being difficult this week, I had the same problem that many of you did but Klaus was able to sort it out for us.

And yes, it was difficult finding a lamp post without a gull perched upon it.

I love this Lamp!!!

OMG. I have lamppost envy. It is gorgeous. We don’t even have ugly functional street lights here on the mountain. The composition of the shot is wonderful, BTW.

Certainly brings back memories of when I visited Paris in Sept.

The vertical movement takes my eyes to the sky. I don´t know which beauty deserves more of my attention.

Ah yes, the giant lamppost. I am beginning to think it is following you Wren. Better watch out, it may have a bird atop it next time you photograph it :)

Tabib November 20, 2008 at 10:19 pm

Cool composition and cold sky!
Happy SW Friday!

Paris looks lovely, especially with that soft sky. You must have had a wonderful time there.

Great pic, I’ve always had a liking for lampposts as well. Good job with the Eiffel tower in the background.

Cheers!

Really beautiful! The lamp post and tower! Perfect!

By the way, I couldn’t sign up for Sky Watch today, there was no place to add my site. Is there a problem I don’t know about????

Reluctantfarmchik November 20, 2008 at 4:04 pm

Look – the lamp post is as big as the tower. What a cool perspective! Nicely captured.

This photo proves you have a good eye for a great photo. I LOVE how the lamp post echoes the tower.

Bird November 20, 2008 at 11:22 am

…well it is a BIG lamppost, so it’s well worth photographing :) Thanks for the lovely encouraging comment by the way, lovely to see you on my blog!

Deborah Godin November 20, 2008 at 12:05 pm

Clever composition, making the lamppost look almost at tall as the tower. And the sky behind looks like a lovely soft watercolor – make that an aquarelle!
