Before Paris, I spent some time in D’eauville on the Normandy coast. It’s a small resort city, very low key and relaxed, especially compared to the large metropolis. There were a few things at Deauville I’ve never seen anywhere else.

But mostly, I saw lots that reminded me of beaches at home, or anywhere else in the world.

And I was most fortunate that the most important part of my world traveled with me

That’s so interesting, my father-in-law and son were there during the D-Day Remembrance a few years back. If you are interested you can see their photos on this home page: http://www.uss-corry-dd463.com/d-day_60th/deauville.htm

You have a great website. I have enjoyed all your photos and posts. Thank you very much for visiting my blog.

Very nice pics! One of the things I like about travelling is that no matter where you are there are usually things and people who remind you you’re still not far from home and that much about all people that is the same.

Thank you for your nice comment.

Yes it’s my Lucky’s feet on my banner:) He is a wonderful dog. And yes the Breed (Danish/Swedish Farmdog) is very much a like Jack Russel-terrier. The big big different is that my dog is not a terrier and he have longer feet than JR.

France must be a wonderful country to live in. A very beautiful country too. Beautigul photos from your worl and I’m looking forward to se more:)

Have a nice week:)

Thank you for visiting My World. It was the two dogs that first struck me with the idea of the universality of a day at the beach. I liked that contrast of similar activities in a unique place.

Great Normandy shots, but like you said, most of it could have been anywhere.

Carver November 3, 2008 at 8:51 pm

Great shots of your time in France. I like how you showed images that reminded you of home and other places. Good sequence.

It looks like a charming place where one really can relax! I always love the beach, there is nothing more refreshing than that. The deer on the rocks really was something :-)
