my world #8: back at home, but there’s still snow

You can’t really tell from this photo, but when I took this picture of the sun, it was snowing. I was ready to head out the door to work, and just stopped long enough to take this on the run. I had never seen sunshine and snow at the same time. It’s very pretty, but pretty eerie at the same time.

That’s a glimpse into my world this week. To see the world through others’ eyes, visit “That’s my World”, a weekly meme sharing photos and impressions of all the world seen through the participants’ eyes.

Very nice photo. Have you ever heard thunder during a snow storm? Have heard it a couple of times and it always startled me. Thanks for sharing.

This is beautiful! I thought it was a light fog but it’s even better to know that it was snow. The lighting is wonderful.

That is really a nice shot, sun and snow. All we have here is sun and rain.

That is certainly an impressive glow/halo around the sun. Thanks for sharing with us.

The setting sun is a beauty and so hot it really must have melted the snow from the image.

Carver December 8, 2008 at 3:19 pm

That’s a lovely shot. There is something so beautiful about the sun being out while it’s snowing or raining for that matter.

Sylvia Kirkwood December 8, 2008 at 3:16 pm

Wow! what a beautiful shot! and how unusual to get sun and snow at the same time! I love it! Thanks, Wren, for sharing!

Louise December 8, 2008 at 3:15 pm

It’s beautiful! I love how it looks. We have snow and sun in NM, but it is definitely not like that. Yours IS quite eerie!

Ewok December 8, 2008 at 12:03 pm

Oh I love the lighting here and the hazy sun. I didn’t realize that it could snow at the same time the sun was shining. That I would love to see and experience for my self.

Klaus December 8, 2008 at 9:46 am

Neat – love the light! Wouldn’t have thought it be snowing – but if you say so…
Cheers, Klaus

Lovely warm glow, Wren. Never seen sunshine and snow together either. But then, it doesn’t snow here that much.
Now rain and sunshine ….. that’s a different story :-\
