As part of our High Country trip at the New River Birding and Nature Festival, we were lucky to view this broad-winged red-shouldered hawk nest, complete with mama hawk brooding in situ.

Susan tells me it was a later decided to be a red-shouldered hawk. I definitely have to stop napping during field trips!
Terrific… good to catch a glimpse of this… it is rather exciting!
How long ago did I find a nest? By luck, I found one on the ground of our little village. It must have been fallen from the tree.
No one was around to claim it, the birds were gone as they never stay put anyway, so I took it home with me.
The pictures are rather cute with those birdies nesting.
Oh how wonderful! I would very much enjoy seeing that.
Very intimidating looking guy, even if he is far away and only poking his head out of the nest.
Must be awesome to go on birding slash photograph outing.
How neat! What an amazing thing… Thanks so much for sharing.
