Bev, they’re quite at home in the mountains of West Virginia. This lifer may well be the rarest bird on my list, and BT3 made the whole adventure so quick and easy, it’s hard not to wonder what all the fuss is about.
Score! on the Swainson’s Warbler. That is a warbler I don’t have. Didn’t even know they had them in KY. I thought is was more of a southern thing.
Lynne, I’m still suffering list-envy from watching Kathie in action. She is awesome!
Scienceguy, It’s easier when you’re still a beginner. Remember, once upon a time, a robin was a lifer!
Wow! Congrats on the lifers!
Terrific list! I never kept a trip list. I’ll have to go count my lifers.
Thanks, Heather. Isn’t it interesting what we miss in our travels? I’ve seen ravens several times, but that darn nuthatch was elusive.
That’s a great list of birds Wren, and congrats on your lifers! What really stuck out on the list to me, though, was the Raven. That (among so many of your warblers!) would be a life bird for me.
Laura, it was fun, too!
Liza, I’d say the nuthatch made the trip, but it’s hard to top a Swainson’s warbler.
Wow! 12 Lifers and a nemsis bird! What a trip!
Awesome!
