I saw this species in the backyard for the first time last year. I’ve seen him twice this year so far, including once on the deck rail – but not at an angle good for photography. So these distance shots will have to do for now.
Skywatch is a meme, a communal sharing, of photos of the sky from around the world. It’s just-for-fun, not-for-profit, and noncompetitive. To participate, blog a photo which includes the sky, then add its link to the master list at the Skywatch website. Enjoy, and visit the rest of the Skywatch posts when they are posted at 7:30 GMT today.

I think it still turned out relatively nice… very good of you to be able to get what you have here!!!!
Originally I was hoping to have a swallow photo for Skywatch, but guess what? Not a single photo showed even a glimpse of the sky.
I love these little banditos. We use to see a lot of them but now, not so many.
Wren: Neat shot of the bird on the limb.
I love these guys. I usually see them skinking around near the ground. I feel lucky if they pop out for a quick peek!
Eyes on the skies and the wingbars! Fun post and good sighting!
Well, perhaps he will show up again in a better position. Animals rarely seem to understand the fundamentals of photography.
That is so true!
The yellowthroat seems quite content to be on view Wren. Lovely capture.Such pleasure from nature is a good thing.
Have a good weekend
Hey Wren,
Congrats on the photo of the Common Yellowthroat! I find that I get more of these distant shots than I do the close-up ones. I take them as I can get them! Great shots!
Have a great weekend!
Glad to meet your neighbor. Killing two birds with one shot eh, skywatching and birdwatching. What could be a more perfect combination.
Enjoy the weekend.
what a nice image! well done!
Great to have a common yellowthroat as a neighbor. Nice use of skywatch and birdies!
We have great neighbors, Dawn. Even the people near us are nice.
