this is a duck I have never seen. I wonder what they look like in fliht, with those feathers.
This is another new one to me. They’re very handsome, even with all the brown tones. And an interesting posture, too. Neat!
I was recently in Western Australia and visited Yanchep National Park where I saw sme Ducks that I could not identify. These look identical to those that I saw. Would this species be found in WA?
I especially like the photo with the reflections. I must try for more duck photos – that’s one species I haven’t got!

Thanks – I liked the reflection shot, too. I didn’t see it at the time, only later.
They aren’t formally part of the zoo exhibits, but as you can see, a large number of them call the place home, regardless.

These lovely (and very vocal!) ducks are quite abundant up here on the Atherton Tablelands (in Far North Queensland) at certain times of the year. Gorgeous things.
