oh dear, this one looks artificial. Hard to believe it is real.

Very nice shot of a very handsome bird Wren. Love that iridescent neck and beady yellow eyes, then the black and white body with pink legs. What a masterpiece!

That shot made me giggle, he looks like he’s trying to quietly sneak away after smashing a vase for something

He’d just flown in and been rewarded with a fish or other treat, so no wonder he looks pleased with himself.

That bird is better looking than our Wood Storks. :-) Nice shot!

Isn’t that an interesting bird? Is it native to Australia?

Wren December 8, 2009 at 8:09 am

I think so.

Nice close-up photo of this bird – but – its lots harder to get anywhere near them in the wild!

Wren December 6, 2009 at 4:49 pm

I know.

I learn a lot observing in zoos that helps me find and recognize birds in the wild. At the zoo, the bird itself is the point; when birding, the chase is much more important.

Great shot of the Black necked Stork, is this a native Australian bird?

Wren December 6, 2009 at 4:59 pm

I believe so, but will defer to anyone with definitive knowledge.
