snow and sky (skywatch)

the decline and fall of mt snomore

In addition to bringing standing water, the warmer temperatures and gentle rain have significantly reduced the size of the plowed snow at the end of the driveway. Compared to January 11th’s post, this is a definite improvement.

That’s the good news. The bad news is that since this photo was taken, the weather has once again turned cold. No more melting, and no more open water, at least for the moment. Think warm thoughts!

  1. I think most of us need to think warm thoughts about now! At least here, although not terribly warm, the sun is strong enough to melt most of our snow in a day or two after it comes.

  2. We’ve had two days of snow blizzards, so your driveway looks pretty good from where I’m sitting! Hope the cold temps don’t mean icy walkways though!

  3. I love all your snowy photos. We don’t see much snow here and i really enjoy seeing your posts. But i don’t know if you enjoy it too because you have to live with that snow every day.

  4. Sorry to hear it’s that cold again!! I was hoping when I first saw your photo that things were really beginning to warm up! But as you said, at least there have been some blue skies! Stay warm and have a great weekend, Wren!

  5. Lovely shot. I’ll send warm vibes out for you although I’m kind of hoping we get the snow they are forecasting for my neck of the woods.
