Spring brings warmer weather, melting snow, gentle rains, and higher water in the wetlands. This in turn brings various types of birds, especially waterfowl. So far I’ve seen Canada Geese and Mallards, but while I was away Mr Wren saw the first Sandhill Cranes of the season. I hope they’ll be back soon, and while I am at home. In the meantime, here’s what my world looks like now.
My world has been a little on the hectic side recently. I haven’t finished blogging the Florida trip, and now I’ve got Nevada, New Mexico, and Maryland in the camera. My apologies to those who are awaiting return visits for Skywatch or MyWorld. If you’ve been visiting here for a while, you know I get around to everyone who leaves a comment, even if not always as soon as I’d like. So thank you for your visits, your comments, and your patience. See you soon!

For some avian reason unknown to us, this year the sandhills have decided they like the next door neighbor’s yard better than ours. We still see them fly in and out, but not as close as we have at times in the past.
Sounds like you’ve been keeping busy! and having fun too ! Sandhills…aw, i love those guys. they are common in lots of CA, but not where we are. We are 99 percent certain we saw one today though (rare!) but when we stopped the car and looked it just had disappeared (annoying!). Hope you see them soon!
Looks like you are slowly but surely moving into spring time. Such fun seeing what arrives when, in terms of wildlife.
Looks pretty much like my world here in Atlantic Canada!! However, Sandhill Cranes are never in the mix up here! ~karen
Hi Wren, Wow, that is some sodden ground. We in NYC are recovering from a nor’easter Monsoon two nights ago, so that’s pretty much what our parks look like here.Hope you see a sandhill crane soon. Lucky Mr. Wren!
