The first picture is taken from the tram at the point we’re farthest from the ground (7.8 seconds, our tram operator helpfully told us). Some of those trees are around 100 feet tall.

Oh yeah, those funny, funny cable way operators.
Funny ha ha.
I have big issues with heights (or rather depths) and therefore am torn between sweaty hands and the fascination for the incredibly view.
Funny cable way operators however tend to tip the scale towards the unpleasant direction.
What’s even funnier is that the last time I was there and rode the tram (and we’re talking 15 years ago), the tram operator had the exact same spiel. I was freaked by the heights then, but wasn’t this time. So if you wait long enough, that problem may solve itself.
