Wren, it sounds like you had a great trip. Congrats on all your lifers. This is quite a list. I would like to go on one of these birding festivals, they seem to be all around the states.

That’s quite an impressive list!! A Ferruginous Hawk is always on my wish list when I head south! What a beauty! No wonder it’s latin name is Buteo regalis! ~karen

We were truly lucky to find this one perched and posing for us – we’d seen them flying and at a distance, but none for so good a look. Three cheers for Bob the bus driver, who spotted the bird and slammed on the brakes!
