Very nice! Different perspective.
I like the head of this bird. You have captured it well.
Hi Wren, I saw Anhingas in Africe, is this the same species? They look so prehistoric, reptilian.
Excellent capture of the Anhinga! Wonderful composition too!
Nice shot of the Anhinga! I got to see them in Florida, too. (also in Texas).
You two are too funny
Great shot Wren. This bird is on my to see list. They are so beautiful and, I don’t know, prehistoric looking. I understand they sometimes swim with just their heads sticking out of the water. I’d love to see that!
I have never seen one of those – but I want to. Beautiful.
Is this a juvenile or female? Because as my memory recalls they are mostly black.
Based on the size, I assumed it was a female but I suppose it could be an older juvenile. The males have some brown in the off season, but in general when I was taking these photos, the adults were still in breeding plumage and the juveniles were much younger and smaller.
Anhingas are just cool – and you got a nice catch there! I also saw my first ones in Florida
Niice! Looks oddly familiar!
Really? You have anhingas in Florida?
