I don’t remember it being windy, but I was focused on the fountain & the animals at the zoo. Short of being blown over, I wouldn’t have been distracted enough to notice the weather.
I love the fountain and like Carver, I can almost feel the spray! Perfect against the lovely summer skies! Wonderful post for the day! Hope you have a great weekend!
I don’t remember a fountain at the SF Zoo, either, Ewok, but I do remember a great time hand feeding the Lorikeets. It was the first time I got to do that.
It’s impossible to see in this photo, but there are two bears flanking the fountain column. They’re made of bronze and are approximately 10 feet tall. Here’s a link to more about them: http://bit.ly/diStOk

Wren, that is one splashy fountain and it sure looks nice and cool on a hot day like today was!
I haven’t been to Detroit Zoo, but I used to visit the city when I was a student in Windsor in the 1970s.
Correction, typo error in my last post.

Refreshing!
Happy SWF.
Good one.
That looks as though it could have been a very windy day when you took that shot. Such a lot of water tumbling every which way. Love itr!!

I have only been at SF Zoo and as far as I can remember there is no fountain there. I thought that a fountain adds to the charm of a zoo.
Happy weekend.

I can feel the spray on my face. And is that a blue sky behind the fountain?
It was a blue sky, even though it was getting later in the day when we were there.
Fantastic capture of the water rushing from the fountain. I can almost feel the spray in my face looking at it.
Very odd looking fountain. Of what is it a sculpture?
