in memory of Klaus Peter

One of many photos taken on a visit to Florida, accompanied by a fond memory of being introduced to Gatorland by Klaus. I can’t believe he’s gone.

  1. What a magnificent photo of a beautiful subject. And such a beautiful, fitting tribute to the memory of Klaus. I haven’t been a member of the SkyWatch community long enough to have gotten to know him, but knew enough to make a beeline to his thumbnail every week – his spirit shown through his photos, and will live on through them and the memories he left behind. So sad that he left the physical world at so young an age.

  2. Hi Wren, your photo is a lovely tribute to Klaus, a wonderful photographer and person. I’m saddened with the news of his passing. may peace be with you, and with his family.

  3. I just discovered the sad news about Klaus. I remember when I first started participating in this meme, he was so kind and patient whenever I would mess up how I’d link my post to the meme.
& his photography is so incredible, so inspiring.
Yours is a perfect tribute Wren.

  4. Klaus had so many wonderful images that he shared with the world, and I appreciated his visits to my own blog. I am so sorry for the loss to his family and to his friends~ His memory shall never fade, so long as there are those left to remember and to also enjoy the treasure of images left behind~

  5. Hi – as many have said I never knew Klaus – but I would not be here looking at these pictures without him.

So, I think we should carry on, stay in touch and keep alive what he made.

    Cheers Stewart M

  6. Wren, I cannot believe it either! I was so shocked when I read the MY world post that I just burst into tears and I am still crying. Amazing how someone I didn’t even know personally could so affect me this way but he was so gifted and always so kind and helpful when I had any correspondence with him. You will keep us posted on any updates, right?

  7. I can’t believe it either, Wren. Such a loss. He will be sadly missed,
but remembered by all of his beautiful images. He was always so kind.

  8. Such shocking news! I knew Klaus had some health problems but this comes like a bolt out of the blue. I admired not only his great talent but also his kindness when a computer novice had problems with linking.

  9. So sorry, Wren! I have only read wonderful comments from people who have met Klaus. He was a nice guy taking time to show other birders where the birds were in Florida! I wish I could have met him too. His photography was just amazing, fabulous bird photos. Klaus will be missed dearly.

  10. What a beautiful shot and fitting memorial to Klaus. Although I never met him in person, I am saddened to hear that he is gone. His photography never failed to lift my spirits.
