I blog here as Wren, taking the Carolina Wren as my namesake, avatar, and totem.
Wrens are bright, cheerful, faithful little birds. I hope I can be the same and brighten your day when you visit. I'm proud to call myself a nature lover and tree hugger, and hope that sharing here will contribute to bettering this world of ours and inspiring a love of nature in my visitors.
Thank you for being here, for commenting, for helping to build a strong community of nature lovers, and for doing so much for nature, for wildlife, and for people in the "real" world.

this is a duck I have never seen. I wonder what they look like in fliht, with those feathers.
This is another new one to me. They’re very handsome, even with all the brown tones. And an interesting posture, too. Neat!
I was recently in Western Australia and visited Yanchep National Park where I saw sme Ducks that I could not identify. These look identical to those that I saw. Would this species be found in WA?
I especially like the photo with the reflections. I must try for more duck photos – that’s one species I haven’t got!
Most interesting looking ducks Wren. Very cool plumage. And yes, the reflection shot is awesome. It looks like you are having a great time over there!
Those are fascinating!
What a cool plumage!
They very pretty! Love the reflections too!
Wren: What a neat look at the ducks, cool reflection.
Thanks – I liked the reflection shot, too. I didn’t see it at the time, only later.
They aren’t formally part of the zoo exhibits, but as you can see, a large number of them call the place home, regardless.
Neat-looking ducks. I like the mottled bills and fancy curled wing feathers.
They are cool looking ducks. Great photos and reflections.
These lovely (and very vocal!) ducks are quite abundant up here on the Atherton Tablelands (in Far North Queensland) at certain times of the year. Gorgeous things.
