I had planned a whole series of photos today to show Sitka, and it just isn’t going to happen that way. So enjoy this lovely example of Alaskan Native art, and come back tomorrow and Thursday for more.

J, come back any time.
Scienceguy, I love them to. I have so more photos of totems, I’ll see if any are good enough to post.
I have always loved Northwestern totems and other artwork. Truly beautiful.
You tease!
I will remember to check back to have a look at those photos. I liked yesterday’s one – very atmospheric and moody!
Caroline, thanks for the pointer – I found a picture of the calendar at

and it’s quite lovely
Such a cool photo! I have a watercolor print by Sue Coleman of a great blue heron perched on the bow of canoe like this one…its one of my favorite bird art prints in our house. If you google her name, look for her 2009 calendar, it is the cover picture.
Thanks, Connie. It’s one of my favorite places to visit.
Stunning. Alaska is amazing.
Thank you, Wil!
All your photos are very beautiful! Thanks for sharing and visiting!
